New York City

Wow, the scuba elf and I just got back from a trip to New York City. How awesome is that. We did the whole tourist thing and I LOVED LOVED LOVED it.
I was nervous about going to the city because my only preception was all the dark muggings and crime you see on TV. What a surprise. There is a large police presence and the city is really cleaning up. People are taking pride in that city.
Things we experienced there
****The empire state building with the American Flag proudly flying from the top.

****The subway system (which by the way I am queen of) I can navigate the subways like a pro now, but hell no I don't want to move there. Too Many people.

****A mentally disturbed man, counting M & M's. He'd pour all the M&Ms out in his hand and count them as he put them back in the bag keeping one out that he would eat, twist the bag and put it in his pocket, then start the whole process over again

****Times Square at night with all the lights and hustle and bustle. WOW, I felt like a child going to disney land it was such a sensory rush.

****The Statue of Liberty, this is the only thing I really wanted to see. I've always wanted to go to the statue and was able to. How awesome and how humbling to think of immigrants coming to this country and seeing this marvel welcoming them to the US. Also went to Ellis Island which was cool but the Statue was the BEST.

****Lombardi's Pizza, the oldest pizza place in the United States. The sauce on the pizza rocks.

****Rice to Riches, has the most amazing rice pudding in about a gazillion different flavors. Man I WANT MORE!!!

****The pickle guys. Elf wanted GOOD pickles, and this day is was pouring rain so we just went to the pickle place. My umbrella broke so that sucked I was soaked.

****Carnige Deli, the meat on the sandwich was like 14 miles high. But it was yummy. It's been on the Food TV show. yummm

****Broadway, Young Frankenstein the musical. I think this was the best experience. I am a big big fan of Mel Brooks Young Frankenstein, and they actors they had in this musical were PERFECT!!!! It was a bit modernized and the elf got GREAT seats cuz he knew I wanted to see this. I also got an ABBY NORMAL tee shirt. Fans know what this means. :-)

****A young man so drunk that he threw up and passed out right there in the subway terminal. That was so gross I had to take a picture and send it to Burfica.

****Coney Island, we took a 1 and a half hour train ride so that we could get an original Nathan's hot dog from Coney Island. It was worth the ride. :-)

****Brighton Beach (Little Russia) WOW talk about stepping into another world. Found a buffett and tried a few different authentic russian dishes. Good stuff. Especially the stuffed cabbage and the meat dumplings. :-)

We stayed for 4 days and came home. My feet still hurt from all the walking but it was GREAT

Have a good Holiday weekend.

Their Move is progressing

Talked to Burfica and Gigantor earlier. The move is progressing. Today being Sunday, gigantor was working with a friend to get the plumbing done and the trailor leveled. Burfica has been running around trying to get things done and Kiddo and his friend Big J have been hitting it hard, moving and stacking wood for the leveling, getting things from the old lot to move.

I guess the inspectors come tomorrow, the electrician is suppose to go at 8 to get that done and the inspector at 3, so hopefully they can start moving in by Tuesday.

I've been busy with work and with Scuba and teaching CPR. I did 22 people last week. 22 construction workers. How fun was that. Have to do another 24 for the same company but none of that group speaks English so it should be intresting.

I will honestly try to be better about posting, but wanted to give an update on Fica.
