Zombie in my home

........ever seen Shawn of the Dead. I've been walking around my house like one of those zombies. The head cocked off to the side, drool running down my chin, lurching around going ughhhhhh....uhhhhhhhhhhhh....accccccckkkkkkkkkk (hairball in the throat, I guess I shouldn't have eaten the cat)

I know Burfica all updated you on our mom being in the hospital yet again so I won't bore you with that info. But the day she went in the hospital, I had worked all night, went straight to the hospital, then later that day had a level 3 interview with one of the police departments I've applied for. All the time this is happening mine and Burf's cousin, God Bless her soul, is packing her van and heading this way to help, knowing I have to work midnights.

Okay for the level 3 interview, here I am bordering on about 20 hours without sleep, I've worked all night, been at the hospital all day and am almost late for the interview. Get there on time, go in and they are running 30 minutes late anyway. Sit in the waiting area trying to keep my eyes open. Finally get called back and it's a board of 4 people. The chief of police, the assistant chief, the head dispatcher and a LT of communications. I right away apologize and explain the situation and let them know that I may have to ask them to repeat a question. They are like no problem.
In the middle of the interview, the assistant chief is asking me a question about my computer degree and his cell phone starts ringing. The chief looks at him and goes my GOD man that rude. The Assistant is like I KNOW I can't get it to turn off, then he goes well maybe the computer wiz over here can help me turn it off. (Rembember now by this time I'm on 21.5 hours without sleep) So I look the assistant Chief right in the eye, just as serious as you please and say "Chief....that would be the little button that says O...F....F.....
It gets quiet in the room, and I'm thinking OH FUCK I just blew it....then suddenly the Cheif of Police starts cracking up, then the Lt was lauging so hard he actually fell outta his chair. WHEW...that actually got me a higher score, as they said dispatching is so high stress that one needs to have a sense of humor.

No real excitement at the security job as of late, but I do work with a father of one of the Sgt's at the police department and I got word that as long as my background check goes through, I'm going to be offered the job.

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Later I'm gonna go try to read some of your blogs

Op...I got no verbal abuse for you today...I'll work on it though

Leave it to me

.........so I started work at Radio shack on Friday Night at 10pm. It's a typical security job, make rounds, try to stay awake, make more rounds and try to stay awake. I love the 10pm to 6am shift but I only have it 2 days a week. The other days are 12am to 8 am blah.

I warned the two guys I was working with over the weekend that things happen when I work. They were like yah okay whatever. So last night I'm on rounds with the guy who's supose to be training me. As we were walking toward one post I go there's are car in our driveway. He's like no there's not. I said trust me it's in our driveway (where the trucks come in and out no less)
So we go up there and there is a running car (step-side pick up) sitting in the drive way with mexican music Blasting from the raido (I do mean blasting) We walk up to ask the person to move and he is passed out bigger than shit. We tried to wake him up, beating on the window but no go. So after trying for like 10 minutes we call the Fort Worth Police Department.

10 minutes later an officer shows up, I help him do a flashlight check of the inside of the truck (making sure that the guy wasn't dead, or that there was no gun under his hands or something like that) The officer than beats on the window, over and over again, still no response from the guy, so officer 1 calls for back up becasue if they break the window the suspect will probably wake up and try to run, which will cause him to hit my fence line and probably one of my buildings.
So here comes officer 2, they beat on the windows again, nothing, then they grab the truck and start shaking it, dude wakes up. Opens his window and tells the cop I'm leaving then slams on the gas all the way to the floor boards. He was in park so the truck just revs almost to the point of the engine blowing up. Dude was way way drunk....then he slams his truck into drive. I'm thinking SHIT there goes my fence, but officer 1 draws down on dude and says just try to run...Dude was alert enough to turn off the truck.
He then appologized for running over the little dog and the cow on his way to Dallas and hoped that the Dallas jail wasn't to bad. (he thought he was in Dallas not Ft. Worth)

Finally the tow truck got there and took the car outta my parking lot so me and the other guy head off to finish our rounds. We get about 5 minutes into the round and hear CRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I'm like oh Fuck me, and told the guy I was working with. I TOLD YOU SO!!! So we go back out front and some Tahaoe has just crashed into the light pole right at one of our buildings, so we had to call the police, fire and ambulance again.

The lady that was driving and the male passenger were so drunk they couldn't even stand up so they sat and the ground and beat the shit outta each other, until the male guy finally got up and staggered off.
Officers 3 and 4 arrive on the scene and take female into custody and we didn't have to wait around cuz the city and electric company had to come out and pull up the lines. When the light pole was hit it pulled over an electric pole as well.

Off we go to finish our rounds and because of the electric pole getting pulled over every alarm in the compound was going off. We checked EVERYTHING, all secure. Finally finished our rounds, wrote reports then I came home and went to bed.

I wonder what's gonna happen tonight

Have a great day.

Processing and other calls

Well went to Radio Shack today and started the employee in processing. This company has their collective shit together let me tell you. I've never been to a new employee thing that was this orginized. Good on them.

After 5 hours of paperwork and getting the training to get my Texas Security Officers licence it was time to go home . (5 hours there and 8 hours pay...whooooo hoooooo)

Had a message on my phone from one of the police departments and I've passed the first stages of their hire process and they have scheduled me for a oral board interview next week. Set that up, went to visit mom at the nursing home, came home and there was a message from another police department wanting to set up an interview for their department so I also have that set up for next week.

Things seem to be moving my way and I didn't even have to get out the bon bons and the video recorder to make cheap porn to get the interviews.

I'll be working a midnight shift which is much better for me than the 4 to midnight shift. Icky...I'll be trying to get on a day shift but it will take a bit of time. Things will work out the way they are supose to, and I still will be trying for that federal job with my bud from the ATF.

Thanks for your support and I'll try to find something to bitch about soon.

whoooooo hooooo

Radio Shack called today. My background check passed and I go in for new employee processing on Monday at 8:45am.
Yay team, that takes a TON of stress of my shoulders.

Even better my new friend who is an ATF Agent stopped by the dive shop today and he's going to try to help me get a position as a Firearms/Explosive Inspector, for the Western United States. For anyone that knows Government work this is a GS-9 Step 2 or 3 grade. For those of you that don't know (I'd have to look up the specifics) but it's around a 50k a year start or more. It's been a long time since I've studied the GS pay grades.

Also my ATF friend was going over his schedule so we can find time and a near by location that I get to go out with him and his dive team and blow up shit. I mean litterly like pipe bombs found underwater, this team goes out and blows them up. Whooooooo friggin' hooooooooo that's almost better than shooting at bad guys.

Okay that's it for my post right now. I have a shitload of stuff to do
Later all

Still alive I think

I'm still alive I think.
Not that anyone cares, but I think I'm still alive.
I also think I have a job. The armored car company never called back....like that was a suprise, but I think most of you are right he didn't want to hire a female. But I'd of ended up telling that guy what a jerk he was anyway.
So last week, I see an ad in newspaper for a security officer with Radio Shack and it says to e-mail resume. Well how hard is that so I popped of an e-mail with a resume and a letter of intrest thinking that not much would come out of it. Usually e-mailed resumes never produce any results.
So I send off my resume on Monday night at like 9pm and at 9 the next morning I get a call from a lady at radio shack setting up a phone interview for Wednesday at 9:30am. At exactly 9:30 the phone rings and it took a total of 8 minutes for the recruiter to ask me to come in for a face to face interview with the head of corporate security. The appointment was set up for the following day Thursday at 9:15am. I went in and took a little test, then was scheduled for an hour long interview. I was in the interview for 18 minutes and was given a conditional hire.
Conditional on if I pass the drug test and background check.
Well I passed the drug test and they have started the background check, I'm thinking it shouldn't be a problem as I just had a state background check done. We shall see though.
The shift is midnights, which is better than 2nd shift I hate a noon to midnight shift. So I'll work Friday night through Wednesday morning. I'll have off from Wednesday at 8 am until Friday at 10pm.
Seems like it will be a great job though. They have lots of room for advancement, great benefits. After 90 days I'm eligible for full benefits, health, vision, dental and 401k, in 6 months you get 1 week vacation and 16 hours PT then at a year you get a second week and 16 more hours of PT. Then 2 weeks vacation and 32 hours of PT until 5 years then you get 3 weeks vacation.
Not to bad and nation wide they have only a 13% turn over. That is really good.

I also had an interview with a police department for a 9-11 operator. When I was much much younger I did drugs and the officer told me that was my only downfall, but that he was so impressed with what I had done since then ie working law enforcement and working for Customs and working a drug task force that he was going to fight for my application to move forward. So I'll know about that in another week or two if I move on. But that is only one postion starting in October, and there are over 200 appplicants so we will see.
In the mean time I have to get a job, that will relieve SO much stress, that I won't bore you all with as I've bored you enough with the job hunt.

I am trying to get back to my funny snarky posts. I promise, I just have to get past this "bumpy" part of life and I'll be back.

Thank you for being patient.
